The municipal tent hosted this show in which the battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma was fought, the Mask of Carnival was given to a comparsa with 20 years of history and the local comparsas who participated in the parade next Sunday were presented.
The municipal tent hosted a Carnival Welcome Gala last night with a spectacular dance number inspired by Africa, by the Kebanna ballet, followed by the fun battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, by the amateur actors María Luisa González Cid and Sebastián Martínez.
Later, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the councilman of Celebrations, Javier Castejón, presented the Carnival Mask 2018 to the comparsa "Cómo tú quieras", a group that has performed in the municipality since 1998, being the oldest of those that currently parade and grouping dozens of components of all ages.
The gala continued with the show of the international group "La Sal", who wore his spectacular fantasies on stage, and the transformer Yeray, who recalled the impressive staging of Rocío Jurado.
The gala ended with the presentation of the local troupes that will parade on Sunday, such as Kebanna, CAI El Palmeral, AMPA and Colegio Los Pinos, The Golden Years, How you want, Youth Correspondents, Gueno Hair, Dragon Boat and Glamorous Stars.
They will also participate in the Adapt parade and La Ola del Mar Menor, which could not attend the gala, and about twenty comparsas visitors.
The carnival continues today in San Pedro del Pinatar with activities for the little ones until 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitución and will have its final finale on Sunday, starting at 5:00 p.m., with the great Carnival parade .
