The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, accompanied by the president of the Superior Council of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Holy Week, Mariano Visedo and Antonia Ferrer, president and José Serafín García Pérez, vice president of the brotherhood of the Holy Sepulcher, inaugurated last night the exhibition "Heritage and History of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulcher and the Resurrected Jesus" that can be visited until next April 10 in the temporary exhibition hall of the Municipal Museum Baron de Benifayó.
Through this exhibition you can admire the beauty and simplicity of materials used in the first throne of the Holy Sepulcher in the 70s, partially remodeled and processioned until 1998, as well as the evolution of the processional costumes and the banner of the 50s , printed and painted on canvas that contrasts with its current simplicity, from the year 1996, embroidered by hand in gold thread.
The cushions of the Passion of Christ, with the sponge, the nails and the lance are pieces that procession in the Holy Sepulcher from its origins.
Finally, the Sacred Heart of Jesus is also exhibited, which was on procession on Resurrection Sunday together with the current image of the Risen Jesus and his throne, which also stars in the exhibition whose objective is to capture the two very opposite scenes represented by the confraternity, sadness and the pain of Christ lying on Good Friday and, the joy and hope of the risen Jesus on Easter Sunday.
The exhibition, organized by the Department of Tourism and Culture of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar and the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulcher and the Resurrected Jesus in collaboration with the Association of Friends of Museums and the Greater Council of Fraternities and Brotherhoods of Holy Week, You can visit from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm and in the afternoon from 5 to 7 pm Saturday and holidays in the morning.
