The Councilor for Sports of San Pedro del Pinatar, Javier Castejon, the general director of Sports of the Community, Alonso Gómez, and the coordinator of School Sports of the consistory, José Juan Sigüenza, today reported the finals of the regional program of School Sports that will be held in the town.

Thus, Javier Castejón thanked the Directorate General of Sports that has chosen San Pedro del Pinatar to host these three finals that will gather in the municipal sports facilities to about 1,500 schoolchildren.

In this regard, Castejón has stressed the importance of promoting grassroots sports among children and young people, as well as contributing to a healthy lifestyle, favor education in values ​​such as respect, camaraderie, coexistence and fair play.

For his part, Alonso Gómez recalled that the School Sports program has this course with the participation of 500 schools throughout the region and more than 60,000 children.

San Pedro del Pinatar will host the finals of the modalities "Playing athletics", in the juvenile category, with 273 registered students from 48 centers;

while on March 9 it will be the turn of the test with the most participation, since 874 schoolchildren from 106 centers will be cited in the regional final of Campo via benjamín and alevín, and on March 17 the final of Duathlon will be held in all categories, with 349 participants from 54 schools.

The coordinator of School Sports in San Pedro del Pinatar explained that the final of "Playing athletics", next Wednesday, will consist of individual events such as soft javelin throw, 10x10 race, lateral jump, or medicine ball throw, among others. .

The groups that obtain the best score will pass to the relay race phase and the best four to the final Grand Prix.

Regarding the cross-country final, he explained that it will be held in the municipal cross-country circuit and that it will consist of a circuit of between 1.2 and 2 kilometers, depending on the categories and modalities, individual and per team.

The final test will be on March 17 the duathlon final, which will be held in the municipal cross-country circuit and the adjoining roads, the distances of running on foot and by bicycle vary depending on the category.
