The Prince of Asturias sports hall of San Pedro del Pinatar has hosted today the final alevín of "Playing athletics", framed in the regional School Sports program.
The schools Narval, in the female category, and Virgen de Begoña, in male, both from Cartagena, have been the winners of this competition in which 273 competition students from 48 schools in different municipalities of the Region have participated.
This final has consisted of individual events such as soft javelin throw, 10x10 run, lateral jump, or medicine ball throw, among others.
The groups that have obtained the best score have passed to the relay race stage and the best four to the final Grand Prix.
The general director of Sports, Alonso Gómez, and the councilman of Sports, Javier Castejón, have delivered the trophies to the first four classified in male and female category.
In the feminine podium the first position has been for the Narval school, followed by the Azorín (Cartagena) in the second position;
the third place was occupied by Fahuarán (Abarán) and the fourth place was for the Río Segura school in Beniel.
In the men's category, the first classified was Virgen de Begoña (Cartagena), followed by the group from Ciudad de Begastri (Cehegín), in third position Reino de Murcia (Murcia) and Hernández Ardieta de Torre Pacheco in fourth place.
The municipal sports facilities will host this year around 1,500 schoolchildren in three finals of the School Sports program, the next appointment will be on March 9 will be the cross-country benjamín and alevín and on March 17 the duatón final.
