Gregorio Rabal Saura, professor of the Department of Geography and History of the IES Dos Mares of San Pedro del Pinatar, presented last night in the multipurpose room of the Barón de Benifayó Museum, his latest book "Hablando de pájaros".
Rabal offers the reader the possibility of knowing a good part of the Murcian oral tradition related to our birds.
The book, specific lexicon, customs and beliefs about the wonderful world of birds, tell us about the rich relationship that has existed centuries between man and them.
The reading of the book offers us a sample of unusual specimens, its scientific name, common name, descriptions and characteristics of the bird and ethnographic and folkloric aspects.
The text is accompanied by an extraordinary set of twenty-seven watercolors by Antonio Vidal Máiquez, who put the image of some of the most emblematic species of our winged fauna.
