San Pedro del Pinatar celebrates International Women's Day with a series of activities related to culture, entrepreneurship and education that aim to reclaim the role of women in today's society.
The Councilor for Equality, Guadalupe García, has presented today, within the framework of Entre Nosotras, the activities scheduled to commemorate International Women's Day on March 8, in order to claim real gender equality and show the important role that women develop today.
Thus, the activities framed on this day will start on Wednesday March 7 with the workshop "Women Tour", an initiative of Coca Cola and AlmaNatura association aimed at promoting the empowerment of women in decision-making in their professional and personal environment , through the promotion of projects and labor initiatives.
This workshop, which is carried out in collaboration with the Department of Employment, will take place on March 7 and 8 at the Tourist Initiatives Center, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The activities will continue on March 8, with the official ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Women, which will include the reading of the official manifesto, by the mayor, Visitación Martínez, as well as the delivery of the seventh edition of the photography competition "With M de Mujer", whose winning photograph is the image of this day's program.
It is worth noting the high participation in this edition with a total of 68 works presented.
The prizes of the second short story contest "For Equality between Women and Men" will also be awarded, aimed at high school and high school students, who through their works have shown different views on equality and the gender issue in 17 jobs.
In the afternoon, the acts will be moved to the plaza in Spain where the poetry and art festival "Grito de Mujer" will be held, starting at 5:30 p.m., with the aim of paying tribute to the woman and against violence.
Participants include Gudea De Lagash, María Luisa González Cid, Tania Fernández, Gemma Bocardo, Charo García, Francisco Ferrer Carbonell and Santiago Ricardo Hernández.
The act will end with the performance of Rock Experience.
The acts will continue on Wednesday March 14 with a day of coexistence in the Balneario de Archena and on Thursday, March 22 the Salicornia reading club joins this commemoration with the work "Eleven Minutes" by Paulo Coelho.
In addition, the council has indicated that during this quarter will begin activities aimed at promoting equality among school children like "Meet my disability" and "Educate as equals."
