The Plenary Session of the City Council of San Pedro del Pinatar today approved the creation and maintenance of a new area of ​​ecological urban gardens, as well as its regulation of granting procedure and rules of use.
The City of San Pedro del Pinatar will enable a new area for ecological urban gardens in the area of ​​Las Charcas, on a municipal plot of 1,914.85 square meters, which will have 25 plots, common areas for composting and in which a vegetal barrier of native species.
The aim of these gardens is to promote citizen participation, environmental education and traditional and ecological agriculture, through the transfer of plots that will be used for the cultivation of vegetables and aromatic plants.
In addition, the regulation regulating the procedure for granting public domain authorizations and rules for the use of plots of urban ecological gardens has been approved, after being submitted to citizen participation.
This regulation establishes that the parcels will be granted for a period of two years by public drawing, divided into three groups, one aimed at retirees, a second group for unemployed and people at risk of social exclusion, and a third for the rest of the residents and citizen entities registered in the Associations registry.
The proposal of creation and maintenance of the orchards has had the vote in favor of the non-attached councilor, Win San Pedro and Popular Party, the abstention of Citizens and the vote against the Socialist Party.
While the regulation has been supported with votes in favor of the council not attached, Ganar and PP, and the abstention of Citizens and PSOE.
DECLARATION OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL INTEREST
On the other hand, the plenary session of the City Council has approved the consideration of Special Municipal Interest of the project of construction of new industrial facilities of the company Zambú Hygiene, for the purposes of the bonus of the Tax on Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO).
The councilor of Finance, José Fernández, explained that this declaration of special municipal interest is justified for reasons of employment promotion, local development and social.
In this regard, he explained that currently the company has 130 direct work place in the facilities with which it has in several municipalities, and that the creation of this new infrastructure will involve moving all its service to San Pedro del Pinatar.
In addition, the creation of 80 new direct jobs is planned.
In terms of local development, municipal technical reports confirm the dynamics of the company associated with innovation and the need to strengthen industrial systems and local production.
The mayor also recalled the social commitment of this entity, through its collaboration with various groups of humanitarian aid, as well as its work in promoting sports.
José Fernández has concluded that the bonus of ICIO up to 95% for works of special municipal interest is part of the fiscal policy of support to companies, which includes the repeal of the rate of opening of establishments, the bonus of the occupancy rate of public thoroughfare, or administrative simplification in the procedures for the start-up of a business.
This point has had the vote in favor of the Popular Group, the abstention of Citizens and Win San Pedro and the vote against the non-attached councilor and the Socialist Group.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
A joint motion of the Popular Party and Citizens on the occasion of the commemoration of International Women's Day on March 8, 2018 has also been approved unanimously.
Thus, the City Council is committed to making visible the role of women in all areas of society;
in addition to contributing to actively and transversally integrate the principle of equal treatment of opportunities between women and men, and request that the resources directed to this end be increased.
