San Pedro del Pinatar has a varied municipal associative fabric that gives the municipality a multitude of activities.
Within the framework of the week of celebration of the International Women's Day, this morning the Regional Widow's Assembly was held, and the local association of Widows Mar Menor was hosted by the meeting.
The ceremony was attended by regional authorities such as the Minister of Family and Equality, Violante Tomás, the General Director of Women and Equal Opportunities, Alicia Barquero, and local authorities, the Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Fuensanta García, the Councilor for Social Welfare, Francisca Pelegrín, and the presidents of the local association of widows, Concepción Dacosta, Charo Sánchez on behalf of the Federation of the Region of Murcia and Nieves Pérez, representing CONFAV.
The event, attended by some 300 widows, aims to encourage active social participation of this group, betting on equality by including among its supporters separate, single women, trying to encourage the spirit of helping women.
Thus, the assembly intends to constitute a day of coexistence among women to contribute among all measures and make visible the role of this group in society.
Throughout the day the visiting associations of all the points of the Region of Murcia, and of other national points, have also enjoyed the cultural, tourist and leisure and free time offer that the municipality of Pinar del Rio offers, within the program "San Pedro of the Pinatar, salty paradise ".
