These extracurricular activities will be carried out during this second quarter by local associations in all the schools of the municipality and are aimed at raising awareness about disability and gender equality among children in primary and primary school.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, and the Councilor for Education and Equality, Guadalupe García, visited today two of the schools in which the activities "From Equal to Equal" and "Meet my disability" will be carried out , during this second quarter.
In the case of the 'De igual a igual' project, it is promoted by the Educo-Ya association and is aimed at fifth and sixth grade students.
The purpose of this activity is for children to learn to interact freely and become aware of the sexist discrimination that still exists in different areas, as well as to prevent violent behavior towards women and end gender roles.
On the other hand, the association MIKASEDA develops the project 'Meet my disability'.
This activity aims to raise children's awareness of the difficulties that people with a recognized disability suffer daily, and that these should not be treated differently.
These projects are carried out through dynamics, games and projections adapted to their age, for an easy understanding of them.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar has reiterated the importance of promoting this type of activities in schools aimed at real equality and non-discrimination in all areas.
Both projects are part of the Municipal Equality Plan that, from a transversal perspective, promotes the principle of equal opportunities from different councils.
