The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar has been in charge of proclaiming this year the Holy Week of the town, which has been linked since childhood.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, has been chosen this year by the General Chapter of Processions to proclaim the Holy Week in Pinar del Rio, since the first mayor has participated in it throughout her life, processioning from girl in thirds as the Virgen de Los Dolores and La Piedad, brotherhoods of which she is a member.
After 12:00 and escorted by the third Roman Hermenegildo Fresneda, Visitation Martinez has been received at the City of San Pedro del Pinatar by the First Deputy Mayor, Pedro Javier Sánchez, and the president of the Cabildo General de Cofradías y Agrupaciones de la Holy Week, Mariano Visedo.
The band announced the arrival of the Nazarenes, representatives of brotherhoods and associations, neighbors and authorities who were waiting for their reception in the Plaza Luis Molina, in front of the town hall.
Subsequently, the pregue received the golden shield and signed in the book of honor of the Villa, in the Plenary Hall of the City Council, where he expressed the pride and responsibility he has felt in accepting this assignment.
Already in the church San Pedro Apóstol, and after the parish priest Roberto Burgos blessed the Nazarenes representatives of the Holy Week, Visitation Martinez announced the Holy Week of Pinar del Rio, reviewing the history of these processional parades;
describing each of the parades that make up the Passion Week and recognizing the work of each of the Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods.
He also highlighted the beauty of the 18 images that processioned in the different parades, the beautiful floral decorations of each throne, the striking Nazarene cloaks and tunics, the effort of the portapasos and the rhythmic rhythm marked by the bands.

"I do not remember a Holy Week away from San Pedro del Pinatar, I do not want nor can I ever leave my town on this date," said the pregue, who lives intensely each of the events and processional parades.
Likewise, he thanked the painstaking work of those who today make possible the Holy Week and those who promoted it, Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods that work throughout the year to take the thrones to the street, and has concluded his speech urging the young people to defend this Christian tradition.
"Soak up the teachings of your parents and grandparents, because that is the secret of our processions reaching our days, that way of transmitting love to God from father to son, also in his processionist manifestation, in his profound value as representation of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, "he concluded.
Finally, the president of the Cabildo delivered a plaque to the crier thanking her for her dedication and support for the Holy Week in San Pedro del Pinatar.
