On the night of Holy Wednesday, the Way of the Cross of the Most Holy Christ of the Mar Menor was celebrated, which was performed on the banks of the lagoon on the shoulders of 40 portapasos who, in fervent prayer, visited the fourteen stations of the Calvary of Christ.
This Via Crucis was first performed in 1992, after the Brotherhood of the Christ of the Mar Menor in Lo Pagán was born.
The image of the Cristo del Mar Menor, by the Murcian sculptor Antonio García Mengual, departed at 10:00 pm from the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, to the chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption in Villananitos.
The Passion and the Calvary of Jesus Christ, gathered last night to hundreds of faithful in the coastal district of Lo Pagán, to attend one of the most unique events of the Holy Week in Pinar del Rio.
