The Floridablanca spa has a rehabilitation project and the dismantling works are foreseen in order to safeguard the original material elements that compose it and preserve them from the inclemencies of the weather and the security and stability problems that they currently present.
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, has reiterated her commitment to the recovery of the Floridablanca Spa as an iconic building on the coast line of the city of Pinata and the town's hallmark.
For this reason, he explained, since 2011, formulas for the rehabilitation of the Floridablanca Spa have been continuously sought, in coordination with the regional and state administrations.
After various procedures, the City Council tendered and awarded the rehabilitation project for the spa in 2016, requesting the mandatory reports and actions so that the building could obtain the compatibility of spa, restaurant and museum uses.
In addition to its movement to recover the beach area, an approach that was reflected in a motion voted for unanimously in the plenary session on November 5, 2015.
Thus, the concession of the building, the compatibility of its uses and its displacement are being processed with the General Directorate of State Costs, and, in parallel, the dismantling of the spa, under technical supervision, with the aim of preserving the original recoverable elements and that these can be used in their new location.
Visitation Martinez has assured that at no time has the demolition of the spa been discussed or proposed for its demise and that the dismantling of the same has the opposite objective "to protect and protect the parts of the spa that can still be saved, as a transitory measure".
"The spa has been and is a priority for this government team for seven years, always looking for ways to put in value," said the mayor, who has criticized that the PSOE who questions "when allowed to close , it lost a grant awarded for its rehabilitation due to its bad management and, at a regional level, it has prevented the competences of Costas from becoming of the Autonomous Community, which would expedite the process ".
Visitación Martínez has denounced the "falsehoods of the PSOE and the manipulation of its claims" because it has always given detailed account in the Plenary of the procedures followed and has asked that "focus their efforts on supporting the recovery of the Floridablanca Spa, without demagogy or lies" .
Regarding the allusion to the felling of trees in the area of ​​the Park of the Sea of ​​Lo Pagán, the mayor has indicated that some trees have been removed in the framework of the adaptation of this area for the creation of a new park, which leads associated a landscaping project with the planting of 30 trees, and that will mean revaluing this area with a more accessible space adapted to families.
The mayor recalled the effort of the government team in putting value on the seafront and Lo Pagán as a tourist reference, with actions such as the rehabilitation of the banleario and improvement of the park, in addition to the reform of Campoamor street and the creation of a street lounge in the area of ​​La Puntica.
