The Department of Culture has developed an extensive program from 20 to 28 April that includes literary presentations, recitals, micro-story competition, and book fair, with the aim of encouraging reading and highlight and disseminate the work of local authors.
The Councilor for Culture, Silvia Egea, together with the president of the Palin Association, Asensio Piqueras, and the Press Workshop manager, Emilio Tomás, today presented the activities that will be carried out for the celebration of the Day of the Book.
Silvia Egea pointed out that the objective of this broad program is to value local authors, while encouraging reading and creating a space for the dissemination of culture.
Thus, the activities will begin on Friday, April 20 with the presentation of "The Conjuration of Santa Espina", by local author Santiago Ricardo Hernández, followed by the activity "film and young literature", by Juan Albarracín, on Saturday 21 within the framework of the Education and Youth Fair, organized by the Press Workshop.
On Monday April 23, International Book Day, a recital of prose and poetry will be held in the Plaza de España, with the presence of local writers and live music, by the Municipal School of Music.
On Thursday, April 26 will be the turn of Vicente Garía, writer and priest closely linked to the municipality, who will present "And I caught the wind" at the House of Culture, while Friday 27, Fran J Marber will talk about his latest work "Stradivarius, the place where the soul rests" and the day will end with the awards ceremony of the micro-story competition "La Sal".
On the weekend, April 28 and 29, the Book Fair will be held in the Plaza de La Constitución, organized by Palin and will include various activities such as signatures of authors, musical performances, workshops and children's games, theatrical performances, storytelling, presentations, etc.
