The cultural program for the Day of the Book began last night with the presentation of the second novel by the local author, Santiago Ricardo Hernández Sáez, "The plot of the Holy Thorn".
The Hall of Events of the House of Culture hosted the event in which amateur actors represented excerpts from "The Conjuration of the Holy Thorn" and in which the author, accompanied by Asun, editor-in-chief of Editions Dokusou, explained that this novel moves the reader to the 14th century.
The action takes place in the city of Santander, Edinburgh and the fields of Valladolid where abbots and monks, kings, lords and warriors, make up an exciting plot in a ravaged Kingdom of Catilla at the end of a bloody civil war between brothers, Enrique II de Trastámara and Pedro I, nicknamed "El Cruel".
Thus, action, mystery, hidden conspiracies, treason, Christian relics and a love story hidden under the habits of a monk tortured by a dark past, fill this plot with the essential essence of a historical fiction novel.
