Experts in participation and transparency, local and regional administration technicians, politicians, representatives of associations and advisory bodies and students have participated in this forum, which in its tenth edition has dealt with "Open Government: Does it improve the well-being of citizens? "
The Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitación Martínez, and the Minister of Transparency, Participation and Spokesperson of the Regional Government, Noelia Arroyo, today inaugurated the 10th Citizen Participation Conference, which this year invites dialogue and the proposal of ideas from of the theme: "The Open Government: does it improve the well-being of citizens?"
Visitación Martínez has highlighted the long history of San Pedro del Pinatar in the field of Open Government, as reflected in the Transparency Portal, obtaining the Infoparticipating seal for quality in public information;
the creation of consultative bodies such as the City Council, the Sectoral Council for Tourism or that of Children and Youth, or the promotion of various participatory processes.
Thus, the City of San Pedro is committed to promoting citizen participation, through processes and instruments such as these days;
deepen good governance, with the implementation of good municipal practices, and facilitate access to citizens' right to information.
Also through the support to the participative culture of the more than 190 local associations, that contribute and collaborate in this objective with projects in different areas.
For its part, Noelia Arroyo highlighted the work of San Pedro del Pinatar in this area and noted that for the Regional Government is a priority to involve citizens in the decision-making of local and regional administrations.
The conferences have continued with a round table in which Enrique Ujaldón, General Secretary of Transparency, Participation and Spokesperson of the Region, has participated;
José Molina, President of the Transparency Council of the Region;
and the councilor of Transparency and Citizen Participation of San Pedro del Pinatar, Fuensanta García.
Later it was the turn of the expert Francisco Javier López, vice president of ACREDITA and secretary of the Official Council of Political Science, Sociology of the University of Murcia, with the presentation "Transparency, a tool to open government to citizens."
A second, more practical part consisted of the presentation of the local participatory technician of Participación Ciudadana, Eva González, of all the actions that are being developed in the municipality, as projects with municipal associations, or the celebration of participatory deliberative processes.
The conference concluded with the delivery of several mentions to associations and local groups for good practices in the field of social interest, in the social health and educational field.
Thus, they have received this mention Cáritas, Red Cross and Love for Love, for participating in the municipal initiative "Solidarity Basket";
in addition to Aidemar, Afemar, Asenfifa and AECC for developing projects of socio-sanitary interest, and the San Pedro Apóstol Educational Center for joining the educational program "IRIS: Educating in Transparency and Good Government", obtaining the first prize in female dissertation , and first, second and third prize in male dissertation in the Regional Assembly.
