The Local Government Board has approved this week the project of modernization and accessibility of the urban center, in addition to other important actions such as the asphalting of several streets and the adjudication of the exploitation of the Youth Hostel.
The Local Government Board of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar has approved this week, among other points, the project of modernization and accessibility works of the urban center, prepared by Consulest Servicios Integrales.
Step prior to the opening of the bidding process of the work, which will begin shortly.
This project contemplates the creation of a restricted traffic and pedestrian area formed by the existing space between the Plaza de España and the Constitution, with the Barón de Benifayó and Emilio Castelar streets, a set of nearby streets, with a marked commercial character, and the central stretch of Avenida Artero Guirao, with a total budget of 2.47 million euros.
The first phase includes the squares of Spain and the Constitution, Benifayó street and its surroundings, with a new surface free of obstacles, in addition to LED lighting, will also be available a unique platform of cobblestones in the streets Cabanillas, Gabriel Cañadas and San Antonio.
In the second phase, the Artero Guirao avenue will be operated, keeping the central roadway of 7 meters and maximizing the width of the sidewalks, and the project will be completed with a cobblestone platform in the streets of Lorenzo Morales, Emilio Castelar and Guzmán el Bueno, among other.
Another Agenda item also approved the 2018-2019 Works and Services Cooperation Plan for the improvement of paving of sidewalks and streets of Poeta Eduardo Flores, Marques de Santillana and other streets of San Pedro del Pinatar, a total amount of 393,585 euros, of which the municipality contributes 39,433 and the rest the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
YOUTH HOSTEL
The Board has also agreed to award the hiring of the Youth Hostel of San Pedro del Pinatar to the sports center Centro Deportivo Levante 2012, for a period of four years, renewable for two more years, and an annual fee of 11,485 euros.
The project includes an employment plan with the hiring of 10 people, improvements in facilities such as the enclosure of the sports court, the installation of a climbing wall, an indoor pool with a jacuzzi.
It will provide the services of accommodation, reception, food, maintenance and gardening.
It will also carry out the procedures for the inclusion in the network of youth hostels and a program of leisure activities, sports, etc.
oriented mainly to young people.
PLAN COPLA
The Board has also approved the necessary arrangements for the Surveillance and Rescue on beaches during 2018 and its economic valuation, in order to send it to the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies for the disposition of the COPLA Plan.
The device is valued at 285,372.42 euros, of which the City will assume 197,572.42 euros.
This investment translates into the hiring of 42 lifeguards to cover all the beaches, between the months of June to October, in addition to the material endowment that includes the set-up of vehicles and boats, clothing, sanitary and pharmacy equipment, etc...
SOCIAL SERVICES
In the area of ​​Social Services, the Board has agreed to extend the agreement signed between Famdif-Cocemfe and the City Council to promote actions aimed at the accessibility and elimination of architectural barriers.
This agreement is in force since 2016 and establishes that FAMDIF, through the Technical Office of accessibility, advises the municipality on the elimination of architectural barriers in projects to be developed in urban public spaces, supervision and execution of works, promoting training actions in the field of accessibility, etc .;
while the City Council is committed to financially endow these works with 2,500 euros per year.
The Board has also agreed to grant financial assistance for the attention of situations of need, for a total amount of 754.82 euros.
