The agreement aims to attract groups of students from countries like England, Germany, France and the Netherlands to learn the language and Spanish culture in the Mar Menor.

The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Jose Garcia, and the manager of Castelar College, Mariano Albaladejo, today unveiled a collaboration agreement signed by both bodies to promote tourism in the municipality language through intensive language and culture Spanish for children and adults from different European countries and could be extended to the United States.

The Councillor for Tourism, Marcos Garcia, opened the presentation of this convention, held at the Centre for Tourism Initiatives, highlighting the importance of promoting language tourism as an alternative to boost the sector in the municipality.

For its part, Albaladejo Mariano thanked the support of institutions to project Castelar Hispanic Studies Centre, born on the premises of Castelar College in 2006 and last year was credited within the Network of Cervantes Institute.

The director of this institution, Pilar Valdés, explained that this is a "serious project" in which four of tourism professionals who work to spread the courses and camps offered by the center in San Pedro del Pinatar throughout the year and designed for both children and adults.

The center includes a wide range of courses, from three weeks to seven months, for which has four classrooms, a computer, and a youth hostel accommodation for students under age.

The center director also stressed that Cervantes is the only center that provides education to children under 17 years and in its facilities, intensive courses for the Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE), granted by the Instituto Cervantes.

For its part, the mayor has highlighted the council to support the tourism industry and has ensured that the council will work to improve the infrastructure of the municipality with the aim of providing better services to tourists visiting San Pedro.

So, has said the council goal is to make San Pedro del Pinatar "is a destination to stay", at which he stressed the importance of projects like the sports that will extend the range of entertainment areas.
