The municipal corporation today held an extraordinary plenary session which included as one item on the agenda, an amendment to the City Council staff, which would consolidate 28 jobs and creating 117 places.
The government team of the Municipality of San Pedro has presented today at an extraordinary plenary session, a proposal for modification of the organic template of the consistory in agreement with all unions, which would include a consolidation of 28 jobs, the creation of 117 new jobs, and amortization of other 13.
The mayor of the municipality, Jose Garcia, stated that this proposal is to give job security to the services the City, and through these measures, carry out a savings plan and economic adjustment.
In this regard, the proposal envisaged the creation of new positions that due to increasing population and expansion of municipal services, have become basic to the functioning of the consistory.
However, the refusal of the PP and the council not attached, have prevented the adoption of this remodeling of the template, which provide stability and better working conditions for municipal workers.
In addition, the government team noted that the agreement with unions representing a historical event in the City pinatarense, since it is the first time a negotiating table, this proposal and has the full consensus of all labor groups.
The mayor has criticized the "exposure demagogic and alarmist view" of the municipal accounts argued by the opposition to reject the proposal.

The government team has explained that the remodeling of the workforce would save up to 400,000 per year, for the vacancies that would be redeemed (200,000 euros) and reduced spending on social security funds, unemployment and Social Security.
It has also indicated that the proposed reform is legally supported by the Law 7 / 2007 which regulates the Basic Statute for Civil Servants and the Law 26/2009 of the General State Budget for 2010, as ratified by the reports issued by the municipal officers and legal advisers of the various unions.
The mayor also made clear that this change would favor the staff employees employed by other government teams, demonstrating that one of the objectives of the agreement "is to banish the servility to which workers have been subject to other City periods and to ensure a stable employment framework. "
The proposal has been rejected by the plenary of the corporation with 14 votes against, PP (10) and Council Members not engaged (4), and 7 votes for the Socialist party (6) and Councilman UCPI.
