The mayor of San Pedro, Jose Garcia, yesterday presented prizes municipal Reading Plan, a project launched by the Department of Education to develop interest in reading and creativity through various activities such as drama and poetry.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Jose Garcia, presented the awards last night reader Municipal Plan, which for the first quarter of the course has been developed in the public schools of the municipality.
During the gala, held at the house of culture, students in fifth and sixth graders from schools Maspalomas, Los Pinos and Our Lady of Carmen staged winning scripts in the "Create and Take Action."
Later, the students of third and fourth graders from The Joy Villa Antolinos and recited the poems in which they have relied to develop various murals as part of the activity "Paint Rhymes."
Also awarded to young Borja Gómez-Calcerrada in seventh grade at the Institute Dos Mares, winner of the "Relat-Art", which has been to create a story from a literary masterpiece.
The awards consisted of lots of books and school supplies for the various institutions involved.
The gala, attended by many children, parents and teachers, was presented by two students who encouraged the public to participate in the various events of the evening.
The Mayor closed the ceremony by welcoming the work that the reader responsible for the plan being made with students of all public high schools to instill a love of reading among young people.
This project has included promotion programs for reading, meetings with authors, literary and artistic works, as well as study and monitoring of children's and youth work.
Garcia also praised the partnership and participation, as pillars of this plan, which have helped both students and teachers of schools.
This project was funded with 78,000 euros of E Plan, of which € 33,000 was allocated to lots of books for students.
