Intergenerational San Joaquin Association of San Pedro del Pinatar announced on 16 December at a press conference, the winner of the third edition of the "Olive Tree of the Year 2010", through its president, Jerome Moya Madrid and accompanied by the president of the PP in San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martínez.
The award "Olivo of the Year is awarded biannually by the Association to persons or institutions that have excelled especially in the promotion and / or defense of the interests, needs, customs and traditions of the Region of Murcia
In the first edition of the organization was awarded the CAM and Javier Guillamón picked its president, the second edition of the award went to former Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar and this time the prize went to Juan José Quirós (1972 ), a young artist of Cartagena, a pupil of Sánchez Lozano, whose work falls within the baroque imagery clearly inspired Salzillo.
The figure of the sculptor highlights and has greatly influenced many aspects of regional and national cultural life.
Besides, his sculptural works are very important and always defending his beloved from his beloved Murcia Cartagena.
The Association has also taken into account and want to recognize his brilliant and selfless work for the needy, as Quirós selflessly collaborating with several nursing homes and convents, making available some of his works of art.
He has received numerous professional awards for his work and now exhibits a selection of his works in the museum Salzillo of Murcia.
