The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Jose Garcia, has signed an agreement today with representatives of the association Majabuka for the development of the "Maréate" whose main objective is to offer best nightlife for young people of the municipality for the purposes week.
The mayor stressed the importance of this program, offering various activities for young people and extends the usual range for this sector, which traditionally has focused on the bars of the curve.
Also, Garcia highlighted the work done by the association Majabuka, which in 2009 developed an experimental project, using as model initiatives implemented in other municipalities such as Gijón.
The president of Majabuka, Lidia Lopez, explained that the goal of "Maréate" is to use local facilities to provide them with activities for young people and used the weekends ago in a responsible manner.
To this end, the association is working with the youth of the municipality, to be they who choose the activities and workshops at which they participate, through surveys and visits to secondary schools and municipal associations.
The purpose of this methodology is that after a training process, are the young people themselves to plan and conduct recreational activities in line with their concerns and preferences.
To set the final program offers young Majabuka various activities such as dance workshops, climbing, yoga, juggling audiovisual, and sports tournaments, board games, skate or graffiti.
This is an open offer, which will incorporate the proposals of the young and the association has formed working groups with them to give substance and continuity.
The president of Majabuka has indicated that most of these activities will take place in the Leisure and Arts Emerging from March, when the process of internal financial reporting, development of programming, and training of young people.
