The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José García, and Councillor for Citizen Participation, María José Albaladejo, today presented the fourth edition of this conference, entitled "Strengthening Civil Society. Strategies to face the crisis" and that will take place on 8 and 9 April.
The Municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar organized for the fourth consecutive year the Conference on Citizen Participation in this issue discuss the position that associations face in times of crisis.
The mayor of the municipality, José García, highlighted the commitment of the government team for citizen participation as a cornerstone of municipal administration and has stressed the importance of involving residents in management decisions.
In this sense, García has said that these days are another example of participatory democracy that runs from City Hall.
For his part, Councillor for Citizen Participation explained that this conference will focus on two distinct axes, one practical, which will provide the tools municipal associations and ideas for further work.
While the other pillar will focus on analysis and theory of citizenship as an essential element in the policy decision and, most importantly, in times of crisis.
The conference will begin on Friday April 8 with practical block.
Thus, the head of the European point of Citizenship in Spain's Ministry of Culture, Augusto Paramio, associations explain how to participate in European projects and eligible for European Union subsidies.
Albaladejo has noted that, also on 8 April, there will be a panel of good practices associated in San Pedro del Pinatar, with the participation of associations Hippocampus, who will present the topic "The Seahorse commitment of everyone," Majabuka, will present the workshop "Experience Pinatarense" and Sakiais Dikela Ken, who will speak on "Schools of Knowledge and Citizen Participation."
The conference will continue on Saturday, April 9 in the morning with the theoretical block, which opens the Professor of Political Science and Administration, University of Murcia, Luis Ramiro Fernandez, with the paper "The associations in Spain."
The program also involved the professor of sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Oscar Rebollo, who will present the conference "Participatory Methodologies to the crisis."
The cycle of papers are close to the conference "Social organizations and the quality of democracy, a challenge of this" by the deputy general manager of Citizen Participation of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Fernando Pinder.
María José Albaladejo has indicated that during the conference, also open a space for the dissemination of volunteerism, where participants will focus on how they can volunteer and in what areas can act.
