The Councillor for the Environment, Mark David Grace, today presented the plots at 50 neighbors who have joined this initiative within the "Reclaiming traditions and biodiversity" and aims to promote traditional and organic agriculture
Environment Councilman of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar, Mark David Gracia, has today delivered to fifty residents of the municipality of urban ecological garden, located on a municipal plot of 600 square meters of the street and Margall Pi, near Clock House.
This land has been divided into plots of 10 and 20 square meters for users as well as a plot of 40 square meters to be allocated to the activities of the Department of Youth.
The City Council has given the plots of a drip irrigation system and provide seeds, fertilizers suitable for users who must manage their sites with environmentally friendly techniques for a year-long assignment period.
In addition, users will receive this week an explanatory talk on the practice of organic farming and products derived must be solely for personal use or for noncommercial organizations.
The Councillor for the Environment has indicated that this project, which is included in the municipal program "Recovering traditions and biodiversity", whose main objective is to recover the agriculture within the urban layout of San Pedro del Pinatar, since this activity "has always been a mainstay in the lives of the people and is growing smaller. "
Also, Grace has highlighted the great success of this initiative and has advanced to at a later stage be extended organic gardens to the different neighborhoods and districts of San Pedro del Pinatar.
