The Prince of Asturias Pavilion San Pedro del Pinatar is hosting this weekend parabádminton this international championship organized by the Spanish Federation of Sports for the Physically Disabled and the Sports Federation for Physically Handicapped of the Region of Murcia.
More than 60 athletes participating this weekend in the International Open Parabádminton held in the Prince of Asturias Pavilion San Pedro del Pinatar.
The mayor of the municipality, Jose Garcia, a delegate of the Government in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar and the sports council, Jose Lorenzo Martinez, attended today the start of the championship in which athletes from 16 countries in 12 different categories.
In the championship athletes participating in several European countries including UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain and Holland.
Competitors and Guatemala, Israel, Hong Kong and Bangladesh.
The Open is divided into 12 categories of play: three in wheelchairs, five feet, two arms and two of achondroplasia (dwarfism).
After the qualifying round on Sunday, March 27, will be held the finals of all categories from 10:00 to 13:30.
Also during this weekend will be held in parallel, the annual meeting of the directors of the International Badminton Federation and Parabádminton in Thalasia hotel in San Pedro del Pinatar.
