The General Commission Truancy San Pedro del Pinatar, held today, has analyzed the cases registered last year, reflecting a significant reduction in absenteeism due to tracking of the Scientific and increased control measures.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José García, today presided over the annual meeting of the General Committee of absenteeism, which have involved the heads of all schools and institutes of the municipality, and members of the technical committee.
During the meeting have presented the data concerning the last years.
Between September 2010 and April 2011 there have been 21 cases of absenteeism, which is a significant decrease from previous years, since 2009-2010 there were 62, and in 2008-2009 the figure stood at 99 cases .
This favorable development was mainly due to the implementation of the Plan of Prevention and Control of Absenteeism in San Pedro del Pinatar.
However, one of the problems identified at this meeting is the continued and increased the percentage of cases of chronic absenteeism.
Therefore, among the measures proposed, the Commission has proposed to the courts, through the Attorney General, the most serious and permanent.
Under the Plan for Prevention and Control of Absenteeism, has maintained monthly meetings of the technical committee to monitor cases, have developed awareness campaigns and discussions with AMPAS of the various schools, among other actions.
Other measures proposed by the Commission to address absenteeism, have been increased coordination with the centers and the creation of training workshops for parents whose children are truants.
