La casa de la Cultura de San Pedro del Pinatar received yesterday the end of the first contest "Cuentéame" of the town, set in the reader and the plan who have attended several groups of mothers, teachers and associations, among others.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José García, chaired the jury, composed of one member to the Department of Education, two teachers from a local primary school and three children, chosen at random among 14 representatives of all the centers, which witnessed the event.
The winning story was an adaptation of "The Man with the Bag", a group of mothers from the College Maspalomas adapted to puppet theater.
Adult members of the jury and decided not benefit from the decision of the children who chose this classic tale as the victor.
The second finalist was the story "Tim balloons," a story about imagination, which took the children to different worlds, performed by the group NUPA.
The runner up was another story "Fairy Tales" by Birlibirloque group formed by mothers of San Pedro Apostle school in which, through characters of different stories, explained the smaller the importance of stories as they persist over time.
The children have been from the beginning, the jury of this competition since Monday 11 April was held the previous selection of the finalist stories with students in several public schools in the municipality as a juror.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar highlighted the results of the Reader Municipal Plan, which since last year has scheduled dozens of activities to encourage reading among children, such as meetings with authors, stories and puppet workshops for mothers, contests and deliveries books to all pupils in nursery, primary and secondary.
Also, the mayor acknowledged the involvement of the entire educational community in the municipality where the proposed activities from the Department of Education and encouraged them to continue working on this line because "it is best to learn while having fun" and that's what was reflected yesterday between children attending.
