The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José García, today presented eight lots of books to public schools in the municipality with the aim of expanding the resources of school libraries, as each center has received about a hundred new titles.
This action is part of the Municipal Reading Plan, launched last year and has planned many activities in schools and colleges with the aim of encouraging reading among children and youth.
José García has highlighted the results of this project, which has enjoyed the cooperation of teachers and parents, creating working groups and workshops to encourage reading.
In addition, thanked the daily work of teachers for children learning to read fun, which, in its view, "will assist in the future, our youth are better educated."
This project, funded by the Plan E with 78,000 euros, including promotion programs for reading, workshops for mothers, meetings with authors, literary and artistic work, study and monitoring of children's and youth work and delivery of books students and libraries of schools.
