The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, José García, next to Town Planning, Félix García, and Ángel Monteagudo architect, today announced the advance of the General Municipal Plan Review Management (PGMO), based on sustainable development environmental conservation.
The mayor has emphasized the need to revise the current PGMO, as it has over 25 years as was approved in 1984, and "need to adapt to urban planning new regional and state standards and social needs of the municipality" .
This development aims to create a more sustainable city, from saving energy, water and resources, limiting noise impact and creating a pleasant environment from a network of pedestrian and green areas, to encourage movement walking and cycling, assured the mayor.
For its part, the Town Planning, Félix García, explained that following the participatory process, will advance to full municipal PGMO for approval of public display.
It also noted that in this paper considers the consolidation of the towns of San Pedro and Lo Pagán, with the creation of pedestrian spaces and underground parking, the inclusion of villages, such as Los Sáez and The Beat in the urban network , the homogenization of the environment (sidewalks, streets, street furniture) and the provision of infrastructure such as Sports City and the new Bus Station.
Moreover, this development includes measures to solve problems by rain, through the expansion of sewers and other infrastructure for flood control.

The advance of PGMO is based on a model of urban development less expansionist and more sustainable, which keeps the whole land protected as a guarantee of environmental conservation and no large areas of land for development.
