La Peña del Caldero opened last night the sixth festival of Folklore Villa de San Pedro, with the participation of choirs and dance groups from different parts of regional and national geography.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, along with the councilman of Culture and Celebrations, Silvia Egea, and the association president, Jose Fernandez, opened this year in which various folk groups from Murcia, Valencia and Portugal.
Visitation Martinez said the trajectory of this group of Songs and Dances, founded in 1979 and subsequently set up as La Peña El Caldero.
In one of his first public acts, the mayor congratulated the more than hundred members that make up the penalty for his dedication and involvement in the festivity of the municipality.
Meanwhile, the council of Celebration, Silvia Egea, highlighted the activities planned by Peña, from the Cultural Week to the Folk Festival, children's shows and through their participation in Carnival and the parade of kings, among other acts.
The festival, which takes place in the Parque de la Aduana until Sunday, began with performances by groups of Songs and Dances El Pinar.
Today, Friday, June 17, will be the turn of the smallest, with the participation of groups of children from Villa de Alhama, Songs and Dances Mülenen El Pinar and Joy.
The Dance Group of Valencian Raval i Vila Oliva, the group of Songs and Dances of Lorca and Rancho da Freguesia of Tapéus Folk (Portugal), performing on Saturday and Sunday will close the event with a performance by the group owner of the Rock The Cauldron, accompanied by the Chorus and Dance Alguazas's Mill.
