Dressed in costume and carrying baskets of fruit and vegetables residents of the municipality participated in the traditional offering to St. Peter the Apostle is celebrated on the night of June 28.
More than a thousand residents of San Pedro del Pinatar participated yesterday in the traditional offering of fruit to the patron Saint Peter the Apostle, who came around 21:00 pm Luis Molina Square, across from City Hall.
Worth the Cauldron, consisting of more than 100 partners, opened the parade and enlivened the journey with several dances, followed by a crowd of neighbors, among which was the presence of many children.
The reigns of the Elderly, Children and Youth, members of the Municipal Corporation, and the Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez closed the parade followed by local band the Musical Union, reaching the feet of the Master, who presided the act from the door of the church of St. Peter the Apostle.
The president of the brotherhood of San Pedro, Alfonso Perez, said that about 400 kilos of food collected during the night would go to the nursing Missionaries of La Paz, located in the municipality.
Finally, the mayor thanked the massive participation of the residents and encouraged them to continue instilling and spreading amongst children and themselves so deeply rooted traditions of St. Peter as this offering, one of the main events of the festivities.
