The auditor Price Waterhouse conducted a study of the Mar Menor socioecnómico which aims to develop quality tourism as a source of employment pirncipal of the region and proposes initiatives such as the positioning of the lagoon through new technologies
The production of seaweed farming, the alternative use of "The Curve" as the day leisure space dedicated to the restoration, enhancement of educational and business activities of the Centre for Tourist Initiatives and implementation of a revitalization plan economic areas of Los Saez and Lo Pagan are some of the proposals for job creation that includes the study by Price Waterhouse.
This audit has examined the potential U.S. in the region of Mar Menor and has set strategic objectives of the municipalities that comprise the development of quality tourism, offering broader and more diversified, enhancing the high-tech sector services and better positioning the region in the Region.
Among the strengths with which San Pedro del Pinatar has to meet these objectives, Price Waterhouse points to the quality and importance of fisheries and aquaculture, specializing in medical tourism, the hotel accommodation, restaurant and inn, the importance of the salt industry, the nature reserve of Salinas y Arenales Park, and a communications network quality.
The audit also proposes actions and joint projects to Torre Pacheco, Los Alcazares, San Javier and San Pedro, as the development of an online presence strategy for the promotion and marketing of tourism products.
Also recommended the creation of a route of Mar Menor, the implementation of a program of "training on demand", the increase in industrial sites and development of water sports in the coastal municipalities.
