The residence of San Pedro del Pinatar Messengers of Peace "Golden Age" today celebrated Grandparents Day with various activities to honor the hundreds of inmates living in the center.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez and Councilwoman Social Policy, Francisca Pelegrin, visited the center around 17:30 hours to accompany residents on this holiday.
Visitation Martinez has praised the work done by the home since its founding in 2003 and has ensured that the doors of the City of San Pedro del Pinatar are always open to collaborate with this institution.
For its part, Francisca Pelegrin stressed the importance of such festivals and other activities centered on leisure and fun of the elderly, they are a way to thank you for the work they have done for years.
The center's director, Inmaculada Martinez explained that the day began at 10:30 am with a Mass in honor of Santa Ana and San Joaquin, patterns of grandparents, followed by a play session in the garden center.
At around 13:00 hours, has delivered a greeting to the residents and the evening a dance was held, enlivened by an orchestra and they have reached dozens of relatives and friends.
The day will end with a special dinner where the inmates will be accompanied by their families.
