The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, the Minister of Health and Social Policy, María Ángeles Palacios, director general of Social Affairs, Leopoldo Navarro, visited children in the residences of La Purisima and Virgen del Mar Lo Pagan.
A total of 25 children supervised by the Community and ordinarily resident in the Cardinal centers and Shelter Belluga Mother Paula de Murcia, spend the summer in the homes that congregations Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Sisters of the Immaculate Conception have in Lo Pagan.

The Department has hired 27 seats in the Cardinal Belluga Center (Daughters of Charity), in which there are currently 24 resident children aged 0 to 6 years, 14 of which are in the vacation home of Lo Pagan.
Moreover, the Mother Paula's Refuge (Sisters) is hired 10 people for under 6 to 17.
All these places are currently occupied and the lowest in its entirety, are in residence Virgen del Mar Lo Pagan, owned by the religious.
In 2010, the Shelter served 16 children, while the Cardinal Center Belluga were 69 children served.
The region has under its care to 275 children in welfare centers or temporary foster care programs, of which occupy 233 seats that have been contracted by the regional administration for care and child care, foster care which has been withdrawn their families after detection of situations of abuse, neglect, abuse, neglect or any other indicator of distress.
