The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, and the Councillor for Education, Guadalupe García, today visited this group of Scouts who stay one week staying at the Castelar College, after attending the World Scout Jamboree, the international meeting on group has held in Sweden.
A group of 40 British Scouts, 14 to 17 years, have chosen San Pedro del Pinatar to complete the activities to mark the World Scout Jamboree meeting, an international event that the movement organized every four years and this edition has held in southern Sweden, from July 27 to August 7.
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, and the Councillor for Education, Guadalupe Garcia, visited this morning the British group, from Sunday until next August 11, will conduct various activities in the municipality.
Thus, during their stay the group will visit the beaches scout the municipality, the Regional Park of Salinas y Arenales, pimples La Mota, plus elsewhere in the region, as the General Air Academy in San Javier and the Teatro Romano Cartagena.
The mayor thanked the coordinators chose San Pedro as a holiday destination and has encouraged young people to return, along with their families or friends to spend their holidays in this municipality marmenorense.
He has also praised the initiative of Castelar College, for their commitment to educational tourism, and language as an innovative alternative to boost economic activity in the municipality.
The ceremony was also attended by the center's director, Pilar Valdes, and the owner of the school, Mariano Albaladejo.
The Scout Jamboree is an international event held every four years since 1920 and which this year brought together 39,000 young people from over 150 countries in southern Sweden.
This event includes various activities, talks and meetings that revolve around nature, environmental protection, social engagement, cultural integration and solidarity movements and associations, among others.
