The fourth-grade students from the village center are currently participating in the contest of ideas "Discovering the city of San Pedro del Pinatar in its 175 anniversary"
The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, and Councillor for Citizen Participation, Silvia Egea, and Education, Guadalupe Garcia, visited seven schools in the municipality where the activity is developing "Discovering the city of San Pedro del Pinatar in its 175 anniversary. "
This competition of ideas, which is part of the program of events of the 175th anniversary of the Constitution of the City, is aimed at students in fourth grade and the aim is that children learn the story of the creation of the session and set forth their views through a drawing, a drawing or a poem.
On the day that commemorates the 175th anniversary of the segregation of the municipality of San Pedro Murcia, Visitation Martinez has stressed the importance of involving children in the knowledge of the history and heritage of San Pedro del Pinatar.
Visitation Martinez has stated that this competition is to develop the curiosity of the youngest on the history of our town, increase their knowledge of traditions, gastronomy and folklore, as well as they know the functions and work that serves the City Council.
To this end, the City has provided teachers with a publication of the former chronicler of the town, Rafael Mellado, published to mark the expansion of the consistory in 2004, to provide a historical framework with which they could develop the activity and mark guidelines common goals related to knowledge of a second primary cycle.
The students, who may attend the contest individually or in groups, the prizes for best drawing or painting, best editing and best poetry.
The jury awarded prizes in the coming weeks, which will consist of a diploma and broadcast on local media of this work.
Schools that have participated in this activity are Our Lady of Carmen, Maspalomas, hopes, Antolinos, Villa Alegría, Los Pinos and San Pedro Apostle.
