The mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, attended last Sunday, October 2, at the commemoration of the "Grandparents Day", held at the home of Pensioner "José Espinosa" Lo Pagán
A total of 350 older participated last Sunday, October 2nd, in celebration of International Day of Older Persons, held at the home of pensioner "José Espinosa" of Lo Pagan which included a Mass, a meal of coexistence and a dance to close the day.
The events began about 13:00, with a homily very close to the elderly, by Don Justo, pastor of the Pagan.
Subsequently held a meal of coexistence in which was attended by the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, Councilwoman Social Policy, Francisca Pelegrin, and presidents of associations of Pensioner and Lo Pagan San Pedro, Mariano Pardo and Josefa Navas, respectively.
The presidents of the homes appreciated the support of the Municipality to carry out these acts, recalling that the food has been covered by the associations.
For his part, Councillor for Social Policy, Francisca Pelegrin, said the reforms have recently been conducted in the homes of San Pedro and Lo Pagán, appreciating the work of the School workshop and warehouse, in charge of these tasks.
It also reported the start of the program of activities at home, including gymnastics, yoga, tai chi, choir and painting, among others.
Finally, the mayor thanked the host for the elderly and noted that it will continue to make improvements in both homes to ensure the welfare of users.
