The mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez, director of the Institute on Aging, University of Murcia, Vicente Vicente, presented the diploma course in Geriatric Care for Dependency and taught in the municipality
A total of 64 students of the courses of Geriatrics and Care for Dependency Level I and II received diplomas certifying yesterday in a ceremony presided by the mayor of the municipality, Visitation Martinez, director of the Institute of Aging at the University of Murcia, Vincent Vicente, the Councillor for Education, Guadalupe Garcia, and director of the Office of Cajamurcia in San Javier, Pedro Villa.
During the ceremony, the Mayor congratulated the participants for the degree awarded and thanked Vicente Vicente confidence in the People's University of San Javier to deliver courses in Geriatrics and Care for Dependency.
In this regard, emphasized the importance of training in a time of crisis like the present to join in the labor market and highlighted the work of the Institute of Aging in the early detection of symptoms and progress in the treatment of pathologies related to older people.
Meanwhile, the Councillor for Education thanked the collaboration of nursing homes in the municipality, Villademar and Messengers of Peace, where students were able to make the practices of these courses.
Vincent Vincent highlighted the outcome of these courses and the quality of both theoretical and practical training and advanced the implementation of a third level of this training in San Javier, and the intention of the institution and the City to convert the town in a second headquarters of the Institute on Aging parallel to that of the University of Murcia.
In addition, Pedro Villa reiterated the Foundation's commitment to funding Cajamurcia People's University of San Javier has already begun with the 2011-2012 course schedule.
Thus, the People's University provides this year's fourth year in Geriatrics and Care Improvement for the Unit Level I and the second course in couple Care Unit and the Third Age Level II.
