More than 50 over San Javier involved in the ongoing second edition of the Geological and Mining Heritage of the Hall of Elder Affairs UPCT, which is included in the training of the People's University.
The Councillor for Education, Guadalupe Garcia, highlighted the great success of the course in its second edition and has thanked the collaboration of the University, as a guarantee of quality training.
In this regard, he praised the efforts of teachers, willing to travel to the town to teach this course on geology and mineralogy, a fundamental part of our history that in many cases is linked with the lives of seniors who participate in these courses.
He added that with this type of activity the People's University wants to provide older people greater personal and social development, as a fair way of correspondence, restoring, through training, part of which they have made to our society by work and effort.
In this regard, Francisco Martinez explained that the Senior class aims to "bring science and technology to people who previously have not had access to them", and to encourage learning throughout life.
The course also arises in a dynamic way, attempted to map scientific and historical content in a manner accessible and interesting.
Meanwhile, Ignacio Manteca, responsible for delivering the course, said that the biggest deal involved in this activity is "passionate" with the world of geology and mining history of our region.
The course of 10 teaching hours, is divided into four modules, through which is introduced to students in geology and mineralogy, as well as the origins of the region and the area of ​​Cartagena.
