The Rock Pot, diffusion of the traditions and culture with active participation in the municipality, has been awarded the 2012 Carnival Mask
The councilman of Culture and Celebration of the City of San Javier, Silvia Egea, today introduced the activities of the Carnival 2012, which will take place on 18 and 19 February.
The mayor highlighted the enthusiasm of the 12 troupes will participate in the Carnival parade and stressed the commitment of the City Council to keep this festival, though this year due to the economic crisis will not be made carnival and gala have eliminated financial assistance to participants.
In this regard thanked the efforts of the groups that "today's work around the clock to show off their costumes with the greatest possible splendor and fill the streets of our town with joy and excitement".
Egea explained that activities begin on Saturday 18 February at 17:00 hours with the Children's Carnival, which starts with a small parade from the museum Baron Benifayó to Constitution Square, where there will be different activities organized by cultural association La Llana.
Thus, the squares of the Constitution and Spain will host a costume party, games, animation, mask-making and child fair to participants.
The main event will pinatarense Carnival on Sunday 19 February, with the traditional parade with the participation of over 450 people and will leave the parking lot of Happy Villar Countess Park at 17:00, crossing Avenida Emilio Castelar and Generalissimo, down to the Esplanade of Lo Pagan.
The parade involving local ballets Kebana and Bewitched, the group El Pinar-Peña The Cauldron and the groups Antares, La Amistad, Los Molinos, the foreigners, Not Just went out, The Golden Years, How You Want and La Llana, and nursery school # 1.
Carnival Mask
Following the presentation, was handed the Mask of the Carnival to the president of the Rock The Cauldron, Luis Fernández Roca, the involvement of this group in the Carnival pinatarense and on all festive and cultural activities of the municipality from its founding 25 years ago.
