The workshop "Spanish for daily life" and the course of "self" are directed to a score of immigrant women in order to facilitate their social integration in the municipality
The Department of Social Services has begun to give this month's workshop "Spanish for daily life", for a score of immigrant women which focuses on providing the basic tools that the students can communicate in common situations and scenarios as supermarket, school or doctor's office.
This course, held annually, lasts 16 hours and will run on Fridays during the months of February and March.
In addition, 28 and February 29 Civil Protection San Javier will give a basic six-hour self-oriented preventive and first aid in the home.
The councilman of Social Services, Francisca Pelegrin, stressed the importance of these training activities to promote the integration of the immigrant population in the municipality.
Thus, Pelegrin last week handed the diplomas of the courses of 2011 and encouraged more than 30 participants to further education, since education is the best way to integrate both socially and at work, he said.
During 2011 the Department of Social Services gave workshops in Spanish for daily life, mental health and career counseling for immigrant women.
