The association of relatives of people with mental illness and pervasive developmental disorder of children and adolescents of the Mar Menor (Afemar) has developed today at the weekly market awareness campaign to banish the false prejudices that hinder the integration of people with some kind of mental disorder
The mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez, visited the campaign "Mental health is also with you", which AFEMAR association members have developed in the town's weekly market, where they provided information on activities and workshops made this group for the integration of people affected by some type of mental disorder.
Also, throughout the morning, volunteers and partners have exposed AFEMAR products and crafts made in the workshops promoted by the association and have been distributed reusable shopping bags with the image of the logo contest I Mental Illness.
This campaign is driven by the Spanish Confederation of Families and Persons with Mental Illness (FEAFES) and AstraZeneca Foundation takes place in different parts of Spain, in order to break down the prejudices and ignorance about mental disorders.
The mayor, Visitation Martinez highlighted the work of Afemar for the integration of persons with mental illness in the region, where they develop awareness campaigns and prevention in mental health programs, reception, integration and information for people with mental illness, and family support services.
