Equal Councilwoman San Javier, Guadalupe Garcia, today introduced the program of activities taking place this week in the town to celebrate the International Women's Day

The Department of Equality of San Javier has scheduled conferences, solidarity activities, cinema, photography competition and a conference on women entrepreneurs to commemorate Women's Day, celebrated on Thursday, March 8.

The mayor of the Department, Guadalupe Garcia, presented today at a press conference this program, which begins Wednesday March 7 with the conference "Women and Media: Image and Language", by Maite Well, that be held at the Center for Social Services and Equality from 10:30.

On Thursday March 8 will be a solidarity march from 09:30 hours, starting at the center of Social Services and through the streets of the town, under the "Walking Together" developed by the council to promote habits healthy women.

From 10:00 am will install a table for development in the square of the constitution that will sell crafts made by women participating in the program "Between Us" and the funds raised will go to a local NGO, Councilwoman explained.

Also on March 8 there will be an official ceremony which will include the reading of a manifesto by the mayor, Visitation Martinez, and the awards ceremony of the photo contest "With M & Women".

The International Women's day will end with a conference of Women Entrepreneurs, from 20:00 in the Social Services Centre, organized by the Organization of Murcia Business and Professional Women of the Region of Murcia (OMEP), in which will address various topics such as business creation, training or access to new technologies.

Guadalupe Garcia has said that this conference is intended to promote business and employment promotion in San Javier, contributing to equality between women and men in business and organizational areas.

The program will end on March 9 with the projection "Deep Ocean", Ulu Grosbard, projection with which to start the cycle "Women and Film" at the House of Culture from the 18 : 00 hours.
