The business census reflects the prevalence of tourism and trade in the local business community (24/05/2012)

The advice to companies focused pinatarenses the first session of the First Conference Business of the municipality, who ripped yesterday with the presentation of the Census of Business, a comprehensive document that analyzes the local business community and the actions arising promotion, training and support to local businesses.

Councilman Employment, Antonio Garcia, opened the conference emphasizing the need to strengthen the business and stated that San Javier has ideal conditions for embracing new ideas and business projects.

During these early days, the Councillor for New Technologies, Alvaro Tarraga, presented the Business Census of San Javier, a project launched last August and have worked in the departments of Employment and Training, New Technologies and Trade, in order to make an "X" of the business of the municipality.

The councilman said that this document provides a comprehensive descriptive analysis of local entrepreneurship, opening a direct communication between the City and the business and set an important planning tool in development policies and business support.

The councilor explained that over 700 companies based in San Javier have already registered in the census, which represents 85% of local businesses.

Among the data collected, noted that over 25 percent of companies have over 25 years, reflecting that the municipality has an established and stable business base, but there is also dynamism in the sector, since around 22% have less than 5 years.

In terms of size, corporate structure San Javier is formed almost entirely by SMEs, as 82% have between one and five workers.

Other relevant data that follows this census is the lack of adaptation to new technologies, because only 20% of businesses have websites, and although most have email, often not very functional.

In terms of sectors, 81.3% are tertiary sector, highlighting the commercial level, which account for 49% of the business, and tourism, with 27.8%.

From the study of these data the City has already initiated actions to support entrepreneurship, the creation of a permanent information system businesses surveyed, the development of a web business guide, which will be launched in coming months or scheduling of training activities related to the implementation of new technologies, among others.

In addition, the council indicated that it will prepare a public summary of the census for those who want to establish your business in San Javier know the particulars of the municipality.

Moreover, the councilor for Employment, Antonio Garcia, presented the project Pinatar Innova, which will be unified business advisory services, program for entrepreneurs, job training and counseling and employment agency.

Garcia explained that this is a local program of socioeconomic development that will include joint actions between the municipality and other actors such as employers, lawyers and consultants, employment and economic development.

The session also included two presentations on key labor reform and the new tax, by Gines Gomez, of the Advisory Albaladejo, and Jose Luis Oliván, the Advisory Oliván respectively.

The conference concluded with a presentation by Maria Luisa Molina, Department of Competitiveness INFO on services to companies for their participation in European projects.
