The sports center yesterday welcomed the closure of municipal sports school, where 477 children are enrolled this school year in the categories of badminton, basketball, football, multi sport, skating, motor skills, gymnastics, squash, taekwondo, tennis and volleyball
The mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez, and the Councillor for Sports, Pedro Luis Vera, attended yesterday the closing of school year municipal sports schools.
The municipal sports schools, targeting children between 3 and 16 years, began in October 2011 and this school year have been home to 477 students in the categories of badminton, basketball, football, multi sport, skating, motor skills, gymnastics, squash, taekwondo, tennis and volleyball.
During this course, the sports that have attracted increased demand are rhythmic gymnastics, with 89 students, followed by tennis, with 84 children, taekwondo (73) and football (67).
The highest number of enrollees have been children under 10 years age group has reached the 318 enrolled.
The closing ceremony of the schools, involving hundreds of children, began around 18:00 pm with exhibits of students skating, gymnastics, multisport, and taekwondo.
The event ended with a parade of the different schools and the awarding of medals to participating students.
