San Javier, over 13 kilometers of coastline on the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor, has been recognized at the beginning of this summer for the quality of its waters and beaches.
Thus, on 5 June, the mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez received from the hands of the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria, flags "Q" Quality will fly this summer on the beaches of The Puntica and Villananitos.
This flag, awarded by the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE) ensures accessibility, cleanliness and safety of the certified beaches.
The beaches of La Puntica and Villananitos have this flag since 2009, although annually undergo a comprehensive audit which confirms the maintenance and improvement of the quality of these beaches.
BLUE FLAGS
Furthermore, on June 6, the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), reported the beaches and ports that have achieved Blue Flag 2012, internationally recognized environmental award.
This year the award environment, in its 25th year, and San Javier gets three flags will fly at the beach of La Puntica, the Visitor Center "Las Salinas" and Marina de Las Salinas.
The Blue Flag is awarded to those municipalities that make a special effort in managing the coastal environment and its beaches, and must meet certain criteria that refer to the quality of bathing water, information and environmental education, security and facilities.
Thus, San Javier international retrieves these flags after three years in which there were no nominations needed to qualify for them.
Note that the Visitor Center "Las Salinas" has been the sole CERTIFICATE Blue Flag Centre of the Region of Murcia, with the development of various environmental education activities such as guided tours of the park, shops, bird banding or training talks that promote awareness and respect for nature.
The Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Garcia, highlighted the intense work carried out from the City to the beaches of San Javier remain a benchmark of quality in the coastal marmenorense.
