Thousands of people have joined today at the Virgen del Carmen from San Javier to Lo Pagán which has been shipped in the traditional maritime procession which involved some 200 ships.
San Javier today celebrated the holidays more entrenched in this county marmenorense, a pilgrimage by land and sea in which the local fishermen, accompanied by thousands of locals and visitors move to their patron saint, the Virgen del Carmen, from San Pedro del Pinatar to Lo Pagan.
The celebration, held regional attractions since 1965, started at 7:00 hours on a target by the Band Council for the streets of San Javier.
The Constitution Square has hosted an hour later a massive Mass in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, celebrated by the bishop of the diocese of Cartagena, Jose Manuel Lorca Planes.
The rain, which in passing has broken into the mass, has not dampened the event, in which hundreds of faithful waited for, at 09:00 hours, the fishermen take out the throne of the Virgin of the Church of San Pedro Apostle to start the procession that would lead to Lo Pagan.
The procession, consisting of thousands of faithful, has followed the path in which several altars built by fishermen and residents celebrated the passage of the employer and who have been singing the Salve Marinera.
The Director General of Tourism, Enrique Ujaldón, the mayor of San Javier, Martinez Visitation and the president of the Fishermen's Association, Juan Pablo Martinez, presided over the procession, accompanied by other local authorities.
The traditional "tronaera" a thunderous fireworks announcing the entry of the Virgin in the Port of Lo Pagan, has terminated the land tour.
Yessica The boat has been in charge of shipping this year the image of the patron in his tour of the Mar Menor, escorted by dozens of boats, fishing and recreation, decorated for the occasion and packed with faithful who have dropped hundreds of carnations memory of deceased seamen.

After the procession Marinera, around 12:30 pm, Our Lady landed at the fish market, where they held a mass campaign, before the image was transferred to the church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Lo Pagan .
The feast of the Virgen del Carmen, held in the municipality since 1792, ends this morning with a procession back to San Javier, from midnight.
