The full City Council of San Javier yesterday began the process for implementation of Nautical Activities Center, located in Lo Pagan, with the approval of the technical specifications governing the award of the management contract of this municipal facility.
The publication and public display of this document is the first step in the administrative concession from the center, which will have a term of 25 years.
According to the statement, the concessionaire shall make an initial investment of around € 800,000 for the provision of equipment and electrification works and adequate access to the center, so you have to add an annual fee that will be progressive 20,000 euros first five years, ten years 40,000 euros and 50,000 euros following the last period.
The Marine Activities Centre aims to become a benchmark for training and practice of water sports on the Mar Menor, with its modern and complete facilities and its privileged location, right on the beach of La Puntica, a few meters the marina and one of the busiest tourist and shopping district.
The building, designed in ground floor with direct access to the sea, is composed of three blocks, an area for the management and administration of the center, a boundary area where the premises are located on the different modalities of nautical and a block articulates the central two and that makes the locker room area.
In addition the center has a Kayak Polo field in the front of the building, classrooms, gym and cafeteria with a large terrace with panoramic views that includes a step for watching sporting events.
The center will develop sports schools to practice sailing, rowing, canoeing and windsurfing in all forms and levels, as well as competitions, events and tournaments, water sports for disabled and boat rentals.
In the field of training the center will include a library service and a sailing school sailing and also held exhibitions, conferences and workshops regularly modernization.
Also incorporated herein commitment to the concessionaire to collaborate with the Department of Sports for the promotion of sports competitions, and to house the local canoeing club, Pinatarense Sports Association, which has broadly covered and recognized expertise in this modality sport and whose ranks are integrated every season for over 60 paddlers.
The mayor, Visitation Martinez, said during the full economic and social transcendence of this center, since, according to the mayor, will help to focus on the Mar Menor, create jobs and wealth in the town as well as promoting the practice of and sports closer to children.
