The Councillor for Tourism of San Javier, Antonio Garcia, reported that the City has established a Local Tourist Board, composed of representatives of tourist accommodation, Thalassotherapy and health, and nautical sports, among others.
The mayor explained that this is an advisory body composed of representatives from all areas related to the tourism sector who work in the township.
It also stressed that the aim of this body is, through knowledge and experience of qualified professionals, improve planning of tourism city and delve into developing the sector.
The table is formed permanently by seven members representing the following activities: tourist accommodation, Thalassotherapy and health, sports, nautical, language tourism, trade and business, and leisure.
In addition, this table has 17 members as possible to be incorporated or activity theme to be discussed at the various meetings of the organ.
Thus, the 24 members of the board will meet every six months to put together, globally, the issues addressed by the various working groups.
During the first meeting of the board of tourism were discussed, among other issues, the current status of each area and its immediate future plans, and their long-term potential.
Antonio Garcia highlighted the involvement of all members of the board, which called on to work together for the tourism sector as San Javier municipality's economic engine.
The councilman added that the creation of this advisory body delves into the objective of the council to turn the Centre for Tourism Initiatives in space which gathers, ignite and power all tourist projects that have development or influence in San Javier and their immediate environment.
