The Department of Tourism reported that hotel occupancy during the bridge of El Pilar, from 12 to 14 October, has reached 90% in hotels of four and three stars in the municipality.
Furthermore, some of these establishments reached 100% occupancy, so that the municipality hoteliers have shown "very satisfied" with the results obtained last weekend.
The Councillor for Tourism, Antonio García, explained that this high occupancy is due, among other reasons, to promotions offered by different establishments, with the average stay of guests two nights and three days, and the good weather and optimal state of the beaches.
The mayor stressed that during this period the tourists also have been enjoying visits Regional Park Salinas and Arenales, as well as leisure and cultural offer complementary scheduled for these dates.
Moreover, 50% of patients seen by the tourist office were foreign tourists, while 26.67% were nationals from other provinces, and 23.33% were from the Region of Murcia.
Antonio Garcia has considered that these data "are good and encouraging and show a trend that makes hoteliers and restaurateurs regain optimism in the recovery of the tourism sector."
