The mayor of San Javier, Visitation Martinez, praised the creation of a public platform to call for the rehabilitation of the Spa Floridablanca.
The mayor has said that for months and, in the absence of public funds for the rehabilitation of the building, the current government team is working with the relevant bodies, both at regional and state to find an alternative to the Spa.
Thus said the City Council gladly welcomes any initiative that serves to join efforts for the recovery of this iconic building of the municipality "if your goal is not distorted by possible political purposes."
Regarding the allocation of more than 800,000 euros available to the Consortium for Rehabilitation Thalassotherapy Spa, the mayor explained that this item had not been used in a timely manner to their trust, as in the previous legislature not undertook the work, whose execution time expired in September 2010, so the Autonomous requested to return the subsidy granted the consortium, which is currently in the process of dissolution.
So, the Mayor has reiterated his desire to protect the spa Floridablanca, a landmark building in the Mar Menor, cataloged by its cultural relevance.
Thus explained that several meetings have been held with regional and state administrations, taking into account the new legal framework that will reform the Coastal Act.
The goal of the City is to find an alternative that protects the building, housing the Museum of the Sea and, in turn, allow private sector collaboration to address consists of the reconstruction.
